For those who think I defend to the death the government of President Fox, let me inform you that they are very wrong. Personally I very much agree with some of the proposals and actions on economic by Vicente Fox, but I strongly disagree with the cowardly attitude shown by the Executive when social conflicts arise.
Start the Federal Government has tolerated the existence of guerrilla groups, mainly the EZLN when there can be no armed groups other than the military. But here the problem comes from Carlos Salinas de Gortari. While the EZLN and the Sub-comandante Marcos and involve no threat and only cause yawning, it is inappropriate to continue to tolerate its existence as an armed political movement.
The Fox administration's big project was going to be building a new airport in the territory of San Salvador Atenco, and 300 cutters managed to stop the construction of the airport curtailing the development of new infrastructure for the domestic air transport. The government never dared to confront the minority did not represent the interests of most Mexicans. Atenco is still considered a high risk area prone to social instability.
And now is the conflict with the APPO in Oaxaca. An organization allegedly built in the beginning by claiming numerous benefits teachers and soon evolved to be as "unique" demand the ouster of Gov. Ulises Ruiz. But it is clear that social crap that integrates this subversive group are not teachers, for someone who boasts of educating children to be good people and straight people can not provide such a deplorable example of violence and intolerance. It is clear that there are sinister organizations involved in the APPO, which have been marking the organization as anti-capitalist character.
Interior Ministry has established several forums for dialogue with leaders of the APPO, but everything has failed. As the "teachers" prepare Molotov cocktails to confront any attempt to "repression" by the government of President Fox, many sectors of the population insists on finding a point of agreement through dialogue to achieve peace. But I'm quite sure that this group does not want to discuss, and while the government continues to tolerate their existence demands continue to increase.
capital Oaxaca has been kidnapped and its economy is sprayed. Oaxaca is becoming poorer and is becoming synonymous with shame for all Mexicans. But Fox cowardly government again said that no public use force to restore order and the rule of law in Oaxaca.
Many people regard as unwise frankly says that the smallest operational by the security forces would be tantamount to repression. I consider this totally stupid as the government is empowered by our laws to act with the use of force when there are circumstances where they are at risk the safety of people and heritage.
Why insist on the dialogue if it is proven that the APPO does not discuss or negotiate anything? I honestly believe that if Vicente Fox order does not act through the use of force, the APPO will become a serious national security problem. Even cowardly already managed as a possibility to meet the demand of the APPO to remove from office of Ulises Ruiz, but this is achieved by capitalizing be achieved demonstrate that President Vicente Fox hands bend to any pressure of minorities. It is showing "little eggs" as they say vulgarly.
If left unchecked, and neutralizes the radical movement of Oaxaca with the massive influx of security forces, the movement will continue moving forward and his next goal will be to prevent Felipe Calderón takes power (in the worst killers), which would be a huge problem for Mexico, both politically and economically.
Vicente Fox and his government repression should not confuse the legitimate use of forces. It is clear that blatantly violated with impunity the rights of others and that legal action be taken against those found responsible, as is stipulated in our laws. Vicente Fox should ignore the noise to make the PRD and intellectuals sympathetic to the radical movement in Oaxaca. Fox already has absolutely nothing to lose and wants to ensure the democratic transition must resolve the conflict before 1 December. Felipe Calderón has already requested the Government to solve the conflict in Oaxaca before the start of its mandate.
Congress Oaxaca State and federal lawmakers have sought the intervention of the police, but many PAN stupidly say that you will never use force to solve social conflicts and always "exhausted" through dialogue, although this route already been exhausted for months. Oaxaca takes 4 months kidnapped and the federal government continues folding the hands.
The main problem is that the public not to use force to resolve conflicts has been wound up for radical groups to take action increasingly violent and hostile, leading to greater social instability in areas where they operate. If for any outbreak of radicalism is to use force to neutralize it, I'm sure Mexico would be a politically and socially stable, but as he continues to tolerate radical groups and unsuccessfully trying to negotiate with them, there will be more and more groups that act against Mexico and against the peace we demand to live with those that are civilized people.
TARIFF REDUCTION
Several entrepreneurs have spoken out against the reduction of tariff francciones 6 000 19 industrial sectors such as chemicals, leather and footwear, textiles, steel and articles thereof, etc. they imply ability to close plants and eliminate jobs. The government argues that this will encourage competitiveness, but employers say they would be disadvantaged by the arrival of products mainly from China.
Personally I agree with the government that the measure will enhance the competitiveness and I think again that employers must understand that it is time to eradicate nationalist thoughts and evolve their vision for improving their industries according to the globalized context which we live today. Instead of seeing the arrival of new products cheaper and probably better quality as a threat, should see this as a challenge and an opportunity to improve their quality and become more relevant to their companies. The improvement can only come up with the competition. It is simple economic logic.
I think that instead of running away from what is usually fear, is much better to think about how to face our fears and act accordingly to gain. I do not believe in the national economy, I will defend the neoliberal and free market. That one that I defend to the death.
